Born today Selma Lagerlöf (November 20, 1858) is the First female writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. She is not only one of the most popular writers in Sweden, but was also a poet and a teacher. She is most widely known for her childrens book "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils".
